The standard Shimano/SRAM HG freehub body for a Wahoo KICKR. This is the one fitted to most trainers as supplied, so you generally buy it as a replacement rather than an upgrade — either because the original has worn after a lot of hours, or because you fitted a Campagnolo or XDR/XD body and now want to go back.

Freehub bodies do wear. The pawls and the splines take every watt you have ever put through the trainer, and after enough hard sessions you may get play, noise, or a cassette that no longer sits quite true. Replacing the body is far cheaper than replacing a trainer.

Who this suits

Riders running Shimano or SRAM 8 to 11 speed cassettes who need a replacement, and anyone switching back from a Campagnolo or XDR body.

Who needs something else

SRAM 12-speed AXS and Eagle cassettes need the XDR/XD freehub body. Campagnolo cassettes need the Campagnolo freehub. If your trainer runs a Zwift Cog you have no cassette at all and none of this applies.
