Wahoo KICKR with WiFi Smart Trainer

Wahoo KICKR with WiFi Smart Trainer — Wahoo Trainers and Rollers

GBP 899.99 — In stock

This is the standard-setting KICKR, the trainer the rest of the market gets measured against. No movement, no smart bike, no gimmicks — just the most accurate and most solid direct drive trainer Wahoo makes short of a KICKR Bike, with WiFi built in so it updates itself and holds a steadier connection than Bluetooth ever managed.

The numbers are the point. 2,200W of resistance means you will not spin out of it in a sprint. ±1% power accuracy means your indoor FTP and your outdoor power meter agree with each other. A 20% gradient ceiling covers any climb Zwift will throw at you. The belt drive and heavy flywheel give it the settled, planted feel that made the KICKR line its reputation.

It arrives with an 11-speed 11-28 cassette already fitted and adapters for every common axle standard, so for most bikes it is genuinely ready to ride out of the box.

Who this suits

Riders who train with power and want the numbers to be right. If you are following a structured plan, testing FTP regularly, or racing where a mis-read sprint costs you the result, the step from ±2% to ±1% is the thing you are buying. It suits heavier and more powerful riders particularly well — 2,200W is a lot of headroom.

It is also the sensible choice if you want to add a KICKR CLIMB later. This trainer is directly CLIMB compatible with no adapter needed.

Who should look elsewhere

If you are starting out or training casually, the KICKR CORE 2 gives you the great majority of this for meaningfully less money, and the gap between ±1% and ±2% will not change your training. If you do long sessions and want the bike to move under you, the KICKR MOVE is the same trainer on a rocking base. And if you want to stop mounting a bike altogether, look at the KICKR BIKE SHIFT.

How it compares to what else we stock

Against the CORE 2: more resistance (2,200W against 1,800W), tighter accuracy (±1% against ±2%), steeper gradient (20% against 16%), and a cassette rather than a Zwift Cog. Against the KICKR MOVE: identical on paper, the MOVE adds fore-aft movement. Against the Elite Justo 2: very close on specification, and worth reading our best smart turbo trainers guide for how they differ in feel.

Frequently asked questions

What does the WiFi actually do?

Firmware updates install without you tethering a phone to it, and the connection to Zwift runs over your network rather than Bluetooth, which is more stable in a house full of devices. It also enables KICKR Bridge, letting the trainer relay your other sensors.

Is ±1% worth paying for over ±2%?

If you train to power targets and compare indoor numbers with an outdoor power meter, yes. If you ride by feel or heart rate, no — buy the CORE 2 and spend the difference on a fan, which will do more for your training.

Will my 12-speed bike work?

Yes, but you would swap the supplied 11-speed cassette for a 12-speed one. The freehub accepts standard Shimano/SRAM cassettes.

Can I add a KICKR CLIMB?

Yes, directly, with no adapter. This is one of the trainers on Wahoo's CLIMB compatibility list.

How quiet is it?

Quiet enough that your drivetrain is the loudest thing in the room. For flats, the vibration through the floor matters more than airborne noise — see our quietest trainers guide.
