This is the KICKR CORE 2 supplied with a proper 11-speed cassette rather than the Zwift Cog. Everything else is identical to the Cog and Click version — same trainer, same WiFi, same Race Mode, same 5.4kg flywheel. The only question is how you want to shift.

With the 11-speed cassette you shift with your own drivetrain, exactly as you do outdoors. Your levers work, your gears are where you expect them, and nothing needs pairing or configuring. With the Zwift Cog version you shift virtually using an included Click on your bars, which suits riders swapping between bikes or running anything from 8 to 13 speed.

Underneath, this remains the value benchmark in its class. 1,800W of resistance, ±2% power accuracy, 16% simulated gradient, and a 5.4kg flywheel that is among the heaviest at the price. Built-in WiFi means firmware updates handle themselves and the connection to Zwift is steadier. Race Mode broadcasts power roughly ten times faster than the original CORE, which matters if you sprint for results.

Who this suits

Riders with one bike and an 11-speed drivetrain who want indoor shifting to feel exactly like outdoor shifting. If you have muscle memory for your gears and find virtual shifting an unnecessary abstraction, this is your version. It is also the better choice if your bike is 11-speed and you would rather not have a spare Click to keep charged and paired.

Who should choose the Zwift Cog version instead

If you have more than one bike, or a 12 or 13-speed drivetrain, the Cog and Click version is the easier life — one sprocket that fits almost any 8 to 13 speed bike, no cassette matching, no indexing. It also includes a Zwift Click and a month of Zwift for new customers. If you mostly ride in Zwift and like controlling menus and Ride Ons from the bars, take that one.

Who should look elsewhere entirely

If you want ±1% accuracy, 2,200W and a 20% gradient ceiling, step up to the KICKR with WiFi. If you do long sessions and want the bike to move under you, the KICKR MOVE. If you would rather not mount a bike at all, the KICKR BIKE SHIFT.
